The New York Times : When polls close in Georgia’s Senate runoffs tonight, elections officials will begin reporting three sets of ballots: in-person early voting, mail-in ballots and those cast at precincts on Tuesday.

Joe Biden told Georgia Democrats they had the power to « chart the course » for a generation as Donald Trump urged Republican voters to « swamp » the polls.

Mardi 5 janvier 2021 ((rezonodwes.com))–Georgia voters are heading to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots in the Senate runoff elections and to weigh in on the makeup of the US Congress.

The two Senate runoff elections will determine which party gains control of the US Senate. Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff are vying to unseat Republican incumbents Senator Kelly Loeffler and Senator David Perdue.

More than 3 million Georgians have voted early, a record for statewide runoff elections in the Peach State.

Georgia’s Voting System Implementation Manager Gabriel Sterling told reporters while there were some minor issues with voting machines today, it has been a relatively smooth process in most counties statewide with reports that wait times to vote have so far been an hour or less.
