Haiti: The perfect challenge!
If you divorce a woman because the relationship was not working out you can’t say that she was better for you simply because it’s not working out with the next one.
Same thing for Haiti. Currently Martelly, Lamothe and Evans Paul and the previous ones failed big time because they couldn’t fix serious systemic problems when they had the chance. Now we are dealing with a serious crisis which is not new because electoral crisis is at the bottom of all political crisis in Haiti since 1988.
Martelly can’t stay beyond the constitutional deadline of February 7th. All actors and objective observers already agreed on that. And for the fanatics and naive out there what would be the point to keep Martelly and Paul around if we already know they CANNOT organize transparent and credible elections? (Based on their partisan agenda and « CONFLICTS OF INTERESTS » even If we give them 12 additional months it will be same results because they will easily find another Opont and Yolette and others just like it wasn’t too hard to gather hundreds folks to ask for something that is just impossible: Elections asap. Élections asap would mean before February 7th).
Now we do have another problem: Those new elected from the same fraudulent elections (92 députés and 14 senators). Since they already sworn in we may have to deal with them even though a temporary government could easily audit the August 9th and October 25th 2015 elections to get the intrus off the list).
So, assuming we accept a compromise to move forward with this broken parliament how can we be certain they won’t be easily corrupted by the current team and the Forum economic who helped them elected?
This logical assumption simply tells us one thing: No matter how we look at it, since our sponsors from the UN and the Core Group will never accept to cancel the elections and start over, the fight to bring real democracy in Haiti has just begun and there is no time to celebrate any small victory….
When exactly will we have an organized and patriotic opposition with a clear road map for the development of Haiti?
