La superstar haïtienne Wyclef Jean, connue pour ses talents de rappeur et d’acteur, animera la première édition de la cérémonie des Caribbean Music Awards qui aura lieu le 31 août au Kings Theatre de Brooklyn, New York.
Le lancement des Caribbean Music Awards, organisé par le Caribbean Elite Group, promet d’être un événement inoubliable célébrant la culture caribéenne à New York. Les prix mettront en lumière les talents des artistes de la région et leur contribution à la diversité des genres musicaux.
Les Caribbean Music Awards reconnaîtront l’excellence dans des genres tels que le reggae, le dancehall, le soca, le kompa et le zouk. Plus de vingt artistes exceptionnels seront récompensés dans des catégories prestigieuses telles que « Album de l’année », « Chanson de l’année », « Producteur de l’année », « Accomplissement d’une vie », « Vidéo de l’année », « Choix du public » et « Événement musical caribéen de l’année ».
La soirée promet d’être un mélange de fierté, de glamour et d’excitation caribéenne, avec des performances époustouflantes, des hommages émouvants et de nombreuses surprises. Cet événement marquera sans aucun doute l’histoire de la musique caribéenne.
Caribbean Elite Group (CEG), publishers of « Caribbean Elite Magazine », a print and digital publication launched its inaugural award show entitled « Caribbean Music Awards ». The show will debut in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Kings Theatre. CEG is known for showcasing and celebrating all forms of Caribbean culture and now the Group is producing an award show that emphasizes, honors, and celebrates the talent that has contributed to Caribbean music.
With the show set to take place in the historic Kings Theatre, show organizers, Dane Taylor, CEO of Caribbean Elite Group, Prince Forde, President of Caribbean Elite Group and Monique Blake, Manager for Swizz Beatz Productions, Vice President of Marketing & Music for Verzuz, and the President of Music and Special Projects for Clokkemaker Agency observed a lack of celebratory opportunities specifically designed for those of Caribbean descent. Together, they sought out the best way to show a higher level of appreciate to the culture and music they love during Caribbean Heritage Month.
The Show has already established over 20 award categories that will honor some of the Caribbean’s most talented as well as emerging stars across the Reggae, Dancehall, Soca and other derivatives of these popular genres such as Kompa and Zouk. Some of the categories will include « Album of the Year », « Song of the Year », « Producer of the Year », « Breakthrough Artist of the Year », « Video of the Year », « Carnival Band of the Year », « Caribbean Music Event of the Year » and many more.

The Caribbean Music Award Show will feature live performances from some of the biggest names in Caribbean music. Organizers and show producers have also designed several prestigious awards that acknowledged the contribution of the recipient over the span of their career. The Elite Icon Award and The Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to distinguished entertainers for their musical excellence over the course of their life stands to be a crowd favorite.

The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorites using the Caribbean Music Award online platform. Tickets for the show become available on February 13, 2023.
