Doechii, de son vrai nom Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon, vient de sortir son dernier single intitulé « What It Is (Block Boy) » en collaboration avec le célèbre rappeur haitiano-américain de Floride, Kodak Black (Octave Dieuson, rebaptisé Bill Kapri).
Les deux artistes ont mis leur talent en commun pour offrir à leur public une chanson rythmée aux paroles percutantes, sur une production de J. White Did It et Brian Kennedy.
Le titre « What It Is (Block Boy) » est un véritable chef-d’œuvre du rap. Doechii et Kodak Black déversent leur flow avec une énergie contagieuse sur une instrumentalisation puissante.
Les paroles font écho aux difficultés que peuvent rencontrer les jeunes de leur quartier, entre pauvreté, violence et racisme. Mais malgré ces défis, les deux artistes gardent l’espoir et la détermination de réussir.
Le clip de la chanson est tout aussi impressionnant que la musique elle-même. Doechii y apparaît dans une chorégraphie sensuelle, accompagnée de danseuses talentueuses.
La rappeuse américaine de 25 ans, qui s’est aussi appellée iamdoechii, a grandi à Tampa Bay en Floride. Son premier EP, Oh the Places You’ll Go, est paru en 2020. Elle a connu un succès viral sur TikTok en 2021 avec sa chanson Yucky Blucky Fruitcake. Cela lui a permis de signer avec Top Dawg Entertainment et Capitol Records pour lancer son deuxième EP : she / her / black bitch.
Doechii est une artiste montante dans le monde du rap. Ses précédents titres ont été très bien accueillis par le public et elle est considérée comme l’une des rappeuses les plus prometteuses de sa génération. La collaboration avec Kodak Black ne fait que confirmer son talent et sa capacité à travailler avec les plus grands noms du rap.
