Claude Joseph is a Haitian politician who has served as acting president of Haiti since 7 July 2021 and acting prime minister of Haiti since 14 April 2021. Joseph was appointed interim Prime Minister of Haiti on 14 April 2021, following the resignation of Prime Minister Joseph Jouthe.
Following the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse on 7 July 2021, Joseph in his capacity as interim prime minister, became the acting president of Haiti, though his official status is legally unclear. His claim to the presidency is also disputed with Joseph Lambert, who was nominated by eight senators of Haiti to succeed Moïse.
Joseph is positioned to lead Haiti until the 2021 Haitian general election has been held and completed. The United Nations recognizes Joseph as the legitimate President. Joseph also serves as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship since 4 March 2020.
