Before the signed the bill, the President hinted Sunday evening that there had been a development. He tweeted that there was “Good news on Covid Relief Bill. Information to follow!”

Miami, dimanche 27 décembre 2020 ((rezonodwes.com))– President Trump signed a bill to extend unemployment benefits and avert a government shutdown, the White House said in an emailed statement Sunday evening.

While Trump signed the current bill providing for $600 checks for most Americans hours before a midnight government shutdown deadline, he will continue his push to bring that amount to $2,000, according to two sources familiar with the planning.

Trump’s delay in signing the $900 billion coronavirus relief bill and $1.4 trillion government funding measure caused unemployment benefits for millions of Americans to lapse overnight.

A bipartisan group of lawmakers, angered over the delay, urged Trump earlier on Sunday to sign the measure, saying « too many people » depended on it.

  1. All this talk for $600.00, eight months after the initial $1,200. That shows the level of poverty of the american people and the low level of the leaders who think that 600 can do something for americans, where an electricity bill in summer time, and a heat bill in the winter could easily reach that amount. Well, if the government had any respect for their 350 million nation, they should remind them that these amounts, randomly distributed, are only to boost the economy and not to improve lifestyles. It is a shame that politicians are taking advantage of that. A shame.
